From: OKA Eitarou [mailto:eoka@aori.u-tokyo.ac.jp] Sent: Thursday, May 27, 2010 4:49 PM Subject: North Pacific Argo float data: An Important Notice Dear "North Pacific Argo float data set" users, On April 7, the Argo Steering Team announced the following advice on pressure biases in the Argo data. http://www.argo.ucsd.edu/Acpres_bias.html However, at the moment, I am not planning any modification to my data. Because, - The pressure biases are estimated to be smaller than 1-2 dbar for most of the data - The data with large pressure biases are expected to have been removed by my data check. Nevertheless, if you intend to study a theme such as ocean heat content that can be seriously affected by these pressure biases, I would strongly recommend that you use pressure-adjusted, delayed-mode QC data instead of my data set. Sorry for being late to inform this issue. The website for the dataset (changed): http://ocg.aori.u-tokyo.ac.jp/member/eoka/data/NPargodata/ Eitarou OKA
